Sneak Peak

The Challenge
TrueTech Inc., a subdivision of Rollins Inc., faced a significant challenge: their existing wildlife control training was outdated, excessively long, and ineffective at engaging field operators. These professionals, who interact directly with customers and handle wildlife in real-world conditions, required a streamlined, practical, and tailored training experience to master core wildlife principles, including the safe and humane trapping of animals. The training materials, which spanned over 30 hours, needed to be assessed, restructured, and migrated to a more effective learning platform.

The solution
Designing Digitally partnered with TrueTech to conduct an in-depth analysis of their training needs, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement. Through a strategic consultation phase, we developed a comprehensive roadmap outlining the best approach to modernize the training while ensuring it aligned with TrueTech’s operational objectives and compliance requirements. We then custom-designed an engaging training program that incorporated professional video, animation, and interactive components tailored to the company’s workforce. The course development process prioritized meaningful engagement and knowledge retention. The revamped Wildlife Training on Trapping featured interactive decision-based exercises, real-world trapping scenario simulations, and strategically placed knowledge checkpoints, allowing learners to apply critical thinking skills in a controlled learning environment. Additionally, we refined the structure of the training to reduce the total course length from 30 hours to 20 hours, streamlining the experience while maintaining the depth of knowledge required for effective field operations.
A key aspect of this initiative was the large-scale migration and redevelopment of training content from one learning platform to another. Designing Digitally took full ownership of this process, collaborating closely with TrueTech’s internal teams and external vendors to ensure a seamless transition. Our role extended beyond simple content transfer; we optimized the training materials for improved accessibility, interactivity, and long-term scalability. By acting as a liaison between stakeholders, managing technical integrations, and overseeing quality assurance, we delivered a refined and future-proofed training ecosystem that positioned TrueTech for ongoing workforce development.
The training program covered a wide range of essential topics, including, but not limited to, Principles of Wildlife Damage Management, New Inspection Techniques, Wildlife Control Methods, Exclusion, Toxicants, Animal Handling, Euthanasia, Business Practices, Legal & Ethical Principles, Ladder Safety, and Job Safety Analysis. The results of this initiative were substantial. Field operators reported higher engagement levels, improved comprehension of trapping methodologies, and a greater ability to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. The structured interactivity and enhanced media elements contributed to significantly increased knowledge retention, leading to safer and more humane wildlife handling practices. Additionally, the seamless migration process minimized operational disruptions, ensuring that training continuity was maintained while upgrading the learning experience.
Through Designing Digitally’s expert consulting, strategic planning, and custom-built training solutions, TrueTech Inc. now benefits from a workforce that is better prepared, more knowledgeable, and more capable of performing their duties with confidence. Our ongoing support ensures that the training continues to evolve, adapting to industry changes and workforce needs. This project exemplifies how a consultative, strategic approach to training transformation can drive operational excellence and workforce readiness in specialized industries.
