Designing Digitally, Inc., renowned for its pioneering approach to technology, sought to showcase the transformative potential of the LEAP Motion Device in a serious gaming context. The objective was to demonstrate to prospective clients the breadth of possibilities this cutting-edge device offers. With a focus on immersive and engaging learning experiences, Designing Digitally, Inc. aimed to educate learners on proper recyclable sorting techniques using the LEAP Motion tracking technology. They sought to transcend traditional instructional methods and create a dynamic training solution.
The solution
Through meticulous analysis of the LEAP Motion device’s capabilities, Designing Digitally, Inc. devised a solution centered around developing a severe game for On-The-Job Training. This game harnessed the precise hand movements enabled by the LEAP Motion device, providing learners with hands-on experience sorting recyclable items. The concept was brought to life by leveraging innovative instructional design principles and creative game mechanics, transforming the learning process into an engaging and enjoyable endeavor. Including a time constraint heightened the sense of urgency, encouraging learners to swiftly differentiate between recyclable and non-recyclable items and accurately sort them into the appropriate bins.
