Loomis AB is a Swedish cash-handling and transport company. Their international network covers over 200 operating locations in the US and eleven Western European countries.

The Challenge
Loomis AB has an illustrious heritage and a long history of managing cash throughout the world. Loomis has a strong international presence with about 400 branch offices spread across more than 20 countries. They offer comprehensive solutions for cash handling primarily to banks and retailers. Loomis faced a situation where they were not able to train all employees through instructor-led training face to face. Therefore, they were looking for a vendor that could offer a solution that included not only the learning modules translated into a multitude of languages for their international branch offices but a custom learning management system as well.
The solution
The team at Designing Digitally was commissioned to develop a robust solution to address identified challenges for the growing Loomis organization. The core components included Multilingual Course Content Development and the creation of a Custom Learning Management System (LMS).
Designing Digitally developed the comprehensive training program, and tools were initially created for this program in English. This English version served as the base for additional language translation training programs to be developed.
Designing Digitally has a team of experienced linguists and subject matter experts who could enhance the content and manage the translated version of the English into Spanish, Turkish, Slovakian, Czech, French, Finnish, and German, ensuring uniformity in message delivery across the global workforce.
Simultaneously, a Custom LMS was developed to facilitate seamless access and management of training materials. This bespoke solution allowed employees to securely log in using their company-issued credentials, providing access to training modules at their convenience. By leveraging open-source technologies, the LMS was tailored to meet Loomis AB’s unique requirements, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.
Implementing the multilingual online training program and custom LMS yielded several significant outcomes. Standardized Training Delivery was achieved through standardized messaging via online eLearning, ensuring consistency in disseminating essential information across the global workforce regardless of location or native language. The online training supplied enhanced Accessibility and Flexibility, empowering employees to undertake training at their own pace without disrupting operational responsibilities, thereby increasing participation and knowledge retention.
The development of this online training program resulted in cost efficiency and Scalability, minimizing initial investment costs while ensuring the platform’s adaptability to accommodate future expansions and updates, maximizing long-term value for Loomis AB.
